    ALBERTON -
    The O'Leary Guardian Pharmacy Maroons kept pace with the first-place Kensington Club/Clark Insurance Granites in the Easy-Stow Senior Hockey League on Wednesday night.

    The Maroons defeated the Elmsdale Corner Gas Regals 6 - 3 at the Jacques Cartier Arena to keep within one point of first-place Kensington, which downed Tignish 8 - 5 on Wednesday.

    Kory Cooke (2-1) and Shawn MacMillan (1-2) each had three point efforts to pace the Maroons. Steven Stewart (2) and Steven Smallman (1-1) rounded out the scoring for O'Leary, which received assists from Darcy Harris (2), Kyle Cooke (2) and Darryl Donahue.

    Scott Gamble (1-1), Mike O'Meara and Chris Avery answered for the Regals.

    Skyler Hustler, Derek Lewis, Chad Rennie, Jordan Coughlin and Garrett Lewis were credited with helpers.

    The Maroons jumped out to period leads of 3 - 0 and 5 - 1.

    Winning goaltender was Derek Fitzpatrick and Mitch Gordon took the loss.

    The Maroons picked up six of the game's 11 minor penalties.
