TYNE VALLEY - The Kensington Club/Clark Insurance Granites Traveled to Tyne Valley Friday night to Take on the first-place Tornadoes in the Easy-Stow Senior Hockey League. The Tornadoes showed why they're in top spot, with a 5 - 4 win, but the Granites didn't hand it over easily.
The Tornadoes took the lead in the beginning with a 2 - 1 lead after the first period.
Tyne Valley's goal scoring was basically a two-man effort with Jason Ellis and Mathew Yeo scoring a pair each. But Colin MacArthur (1-2) with a fortuitous bounce slid the winner into a wide open Granites goal. Jeremy Martin had two helpers.
Kensington's goals were scored by Jonathan Cameron (1-1), Mark Paynter (1-1), Jon Clark and Craig Warrick.
Jeff Noye was in goal for Tyne Valley and Tim MacPhee was between the pipes for the Granites.
This was only the second meeting between the two teams this season with each team winning once. The two will renew acquaintances again this coming Wednesday night in Kensington at 8:00p.m.
