TYNE VALLEY - Kory Cooke's six-point effort paced the O'Leary Guardian Pharmacy Maroons to an 8-5 road victory over the Tyne Valley Tornadoes here at the Community Sports Centre recently.
Cooke finished with four goals and two assists as the Maroons outscored the Tornadoes 5-3 in the third period of the Easy-Stow Senior Hockey League game. Tyne Valley led 1-0 after one period and the Maroons took a 3-2 advantage into the second intermission.
Andre Howard (1-2), Darcy Harris (1-1), Mitch Betts and Steven Smallman rounded out O'Leary's scoring.
Kyle Cooke (2), Simon Smallman (2), Steven Stewart and Neil Boulter contributed helpers.
Trevor Henwood (2), Colin MacArthur, Chris Ellis and Tylan Robinson found the back of the net for Tyne Valley.
Robbie Bulger (2), Jeremy Martin (2), Trent Robinson, Adam Ballum, Colin MacArthur, Kyle Sark and goaltender Nick Heer added assists.
Derek Fitzpatrick tended goal for the Maroons.
A total of 13 minor penalties were called in the game - eight of which were against O'Leary.
