TYNE VALLEY - The Tyne Valley Tornadoes hosted the Tignish Aces last night and beat the visitors 9-6.
The Aces took a long time to get going in this Easy-Stow Senior Hockey League match. The Tornadoes scored five unanswered goals in the first period.
The Tignish team started to come alive in the second period adding adding one goal and really poured it on in the final stanza scoring five times. However, the Tornadoes still had lots of fight left and added three more to their score in the final period.
Tyne Valley scoring was lead by Adam Ballum with a hat trick, while Jason Ellis added a pair (2-2).
Other Tornadoes goals were scored by Colin Arsenault (1-1), Colin MacArthur, Tylan Robinson and Kyle Sark. Assisting were Aley McCaull, Chris Ellis, Trent Robinson, each with two, Jeremy Martin, Darcy Hutchinson and Mathew Yeo.
Aces scoring was led by Ryan Kitchen (3-1) who scored a hat trick and Shawn Shea who added a pair, Jason Hackett scored the other.
Tyne Valley and Tignish will face each other again Sunday night, this time at the Credit Union Arena.
Game time is 6:30p.m.
