O'LEARY - It was a high-scoring game and a strong finish for the Tignish Aces Saturday night, but the O'Leary Guardian Pharmacy Maroons took the win 9 - 6.
The Maroons hosted the Easy-Stow Senior Hockey League match here at the O'Leary Community Sports Centre. It was the Aces first visit to O'Leary this season, although the Maroons have been to Tignish three times.
The Maroons started strong scoring five times, two from Shawn MacMillan, while the Aces answered with just one by Jeff Keough (2-1).
O'Leary added two more and Keough added another to bring the score to 7 - 2 after the second period.
The Aces poured it on in the final stanza scoring four times, two of these by Sandy Shea (2-1). But the Maroons were not done yet either and added two more to clinch the win - one of them by Kory Cooke (2-2), his second of the game.
Darcy Harris (2-1) also scored a pair for O'Leary.
The Maroons other goal scorers were Simon Smallman (1-1) and Andre Howard (1-1) and Jeff MacIsaac.
The Aces goal getters included Johnny Perry and Aldon Gaudet (1-1).
